Infertility Treatment - Becoming Pregnant and a Healthy Pregnancy

Infertility is defined as the inability of a woman to have a baby. Infertility means not only those women who are unable to become pregnant but also those women who are unable to have a successful pregnancy.

A woman who has never been able to become pregnant is said to have “primary infertility”. If a woman has been pregnant before but is unable to become pregnant again, she has “secondary infertility”.

The 3 main causes of infertility are: Problems with ovulation; male factor; and pelvic factors such as endometriosis or pelvic damage from either a previous infection or previous surgery. It is usually fairly easy to figure out why the woman is not becoming pregnant. Correcting the problem is sometimes fairly easy and sometimes extremely difficult.

Diagnosing and treating secondary infertility is often much more difficult than it is for primary infertility. Sometimes you have to wonder how the woman even got pregnant the first time.

My office offers a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment program to address all of the various problems that affect a woman’s fertility with the hope that she will be able to achieve a successful pregnancy resulting in a healthy baby.  Please contact me if you have any questions or to schedule an appointment.
